The Press and Broadcast Media Most Complicit
Those actors best positioned to lead a public dialogue, namely the press and the broadcast media, are among the most complicit. The last thing they want is anybody to review all the truly crazy things they have advocated [since March 2020].

Mark my words: Should they [politicians and academics] ever be allowed to get the public panic juggernaut up and running again, what they do next will make Corona seem like a mildly rough case of cultural and political indigestion. They’ve learned that the hard limits on their power are far weaker than they ever imagined. Their dark ambitions will hang over us like a Sword of Damocles for decades now.

The Problem with Technocrats
A real problem with the technocrats, is that they only have relevance in one direction. As soon as the National Academy of Sciences issues an opinion that the virus isn’t much to worry about and people should continue to live their lives as before, their political relevance is finished. For this reason alone, technocratic systems will be biased towards intervention, even in harmless situations, and nothing they tell you to do can ever be trusted.

That is not how freedom works. None of us will ever forget this.
The years since 2020 have proven that all it takes to confine the entire civilian population of a Western country to indefinite house arrest, is a viral pathogen no worse than pandemic influenza. With the right media campaign, the state can close schools and most of the economy, force millions to accept dangerous and ineffective medications, all with the support of a substantial majority of the voting public. Constitutional protections, democratic freedoms, bills of rights – these don’t matter, they are worthless. All you need is a sufficiently scary virus and they can be immediately set aside. That is not how freedom works. None of us will ever forget this.

They’ll never accept blame as long as they’re still in power.
It’s important to remain optimistic and forward-looking, but we’re not going to see any kind of near-term victory here. As I say all the time, complicity in pandemic abuses is extremely widespread. The media, the greater part of our political establishment, and our bureaucratic and academic institutions, all had a hand in these crimes. They’ll never accept blame as long as they’re still in power.
