The century of progressivism did not go well. The European system that Wilson [President Woodrow Wilson] and the progressives scolded Americans for not adopting, which he called nearly perfect, led to the governments that caused the most awful century that the world has ever seen. Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, and Mao all were intertwined with the rise of progressivism, and all were opposed to the natural rights on which our Declaration was based. Many progressives expressed admiration for each of them shortly before their governments killed tens of millions of people.1

A Note from The Inmate: I hope it’s obvious that I did not draw the above or any of the cartoons/memes on The Asylum. When I started The Asylum in 2022, I tried to find art and photos that would work for memes by adding text to them or creating my own from scratch in Photoshop, then with the advent of AI, I also began creating images using an AI image generator. Of late, and the above is an example, I look for public domain drawings, often over 100 years old. Many are in black and white and I ask the AI to keep the drawings the same except to colorize them and I add the text I want. I like the character and human touch of these drawings.
