The War Continues

In reality, it is entirely possible that someone who takes his or her religion literally could be a potential terrorist if that religion’s sacred text calls upon believers to “strike terror in the enemies of Allah” (Qur’an 8:60). A believer who takes his religious text literally may be ill-suited for a tolerant society if that text instructs him to view those outside the fold as “the most vile of created beings” (Qur’an 98:6) and tells him to be “ruthless” toward them while being merciful to believers (Qur’an 48:29). And a literal reading of sacred texts most certainly may translate into hijacking, murder and terrorism if that text instructs believers to “kill them wherever you find them” (Qur’an 2:191, 4:89, 4:91, cf. 9:5).1

New York Skyline. Islam's Newest Military Base. I remember when the Religion of Peace visited in 2001

so this is the basic trade: the radical islamists get useful idiocy and advocacy to pave a path to power and the externalized-empathy left gets a cause to champion that pulls them out of their meaningless morass and that upsets the people that they don’t like.

both sides are playing at “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” and bound together in opposition to the idea of “america.”2
