I Ran All Over the Board

A bunch of things are happening 9,000 miles away. I don’t know what it means. Continue to be skeptical about certainty. Be skeptical about hysterical pronunciations of doom, and be wary of complete confidence in a certain victory....It’s not necessary to think anyone knows what it all means.1

— Chris Bray

Parody of a Monopoly board with a theme of the Iran war.

There are many opinions on the Iran war. What should an inmate think?

Iran Will Win by Destroying the Petrodollar2 — Ahnaf Ibn Qais

I now wonder if Trump, Hegseth, and Lindsay Graham are demonically possessed.3 — John Leake

Trump the Destroyer4 — Alexander Dugin

Trump and the MS MIL are Saving Humanity5 — Clandestine

Thus, Iran is in a bad way. Its president —the civilian leadership— can’t control its own military. Pezeshkian issues an order; they ignore it and attack two more countries.6 — Jeff Childers

Iran is executing a rope-a-dope strategy. They absorb strikes while expanding the battlefield horizontally through proxies and asymmetric action. We fought this same war in Afghanistan and Iraq. We lost both.7 — Michael T. Flynn LTG USA (RET)

Trump is desperate. Maybe this is the right time for Veep Vance and Tulsi to tell him, We told you so, dumbass.8 — Mark Wauck

Don’t lose the plot. Embrace the suck. This is the world’s hard time, for now. The birth of anything can be a bloody horror. It can even look like death. Don’t be too afraid to see what comes on the other side of this awful spectacle.9 — James Howard Kunstler

Despite bold claims from Donald Trump and his Secretary of War that Iran has lost the war and is on the cusp of surrendering, Iran has not got the memo…10 — Larry C. Johnson

…President Trump is waging a strategic fight against “globalists,” rooted in London-based finance, reinsurance, and commodity speculation, rather than against fellow Americans or foreign nations as such….11 — Mike Steger

I don’t think we should be doing anything for Israel‘s benefit. It should be because it’s in our nation’s interest, and I believe it is. Iran has been at war with us since 1979. They have sponsored more terrorism and have been responsible for more American deaths than any other country.…By far!12 — Brian K.

So when I watch videos of Iranian women dancing in the streets around the globe after the death of their dictator, I smile. I see a bit of myself in them, yes, but I also know that the dreams of millions have just been conceived or revived.13 — Ayaan Hirsi Ali

The Decline and Fall of Donald Trump14 — Constantin von Hoffmeister

And there are more, from one extreme to the other and everything in between. Not only is there a kinetic war, but married to it is a cyber war, a war of propaganda via social and mainstream media.

Has the fog of war ever been thicker?

The players and the experts cannot predict what will ultimately happen. Things might go south very quickly. Or it may go the other way.

And there are always unintended consequences. Always.

So many on Substack seem absolutely certain about their views, assessments and criticisms. I guess it makes for stronger, more engaging writing, just not sure it makes for sound logic or better conclusions.

Absolute certainty can obscure the truth, harm any chance of meaningful change or keep one from considering other points of view.

What we can do is start with what we know and extrapolate from there. “I think, therefore I am,” as Descartes began. The foundation won’t be perfect, but it may get us closer to the truth as we wade through and consider the opinions of others on Substack, X and other information hubs.

Don’t forget what happened during the pandemic: a plan was orchestrated on a worldwide scale. The propaganda was the same in the U.S., Canada, Britain, Australia, Germany, France and other countries. What did we learn? What did many of us realize for the first time? Governments lie repeatedly without shame, mainstream media lies whenever they deem it necessary, politicians hate us, pharma companies use us, the algorithms on social media manipulate. There is no reason to think that is not happening now.

Many of the opinions I see on Iran often rely on the very media we all learned “never to trust again” after the pandemic. “We don’t hate them enough,” I’ve seen a million times. Deep fakes are not a future, “Wow, it’s going to be hard to know the truth,” but a present problem already before us.

Here’s the one thing I know that gives me pause: love him or hate him, the establishment, the powers that be, the hierarchy that has been exploiting the world for decades, absolutely despises Trump.

DESPISES HIM. Stop. Think about it.

They tried to assassinate him. In their plans—he should be dead now. The people and institutions that have lied to us, have poisoned us, have over-taxed us, have propagandized us—HATE TRUMP.

Hate him. Universally.

It’s almost like it was orchestrated (It was). One of the directives for the Left is to never do anything to humanize Trump. Never. So….don’t ever agree or praise anything he does. Ever. If you’re in congress don’t ever stand to clap for him or anyone he introduces. Ever. Call him a Nazi, a Fascist, a racist and a dictator. Always. Tell everyone he hates the poor, he hates immigrants, he’s against free speech and that he doesn’t know what he’s doing. Always. Always!

Remember this:

  • Trump was a well-liked media personality right up until he ran for President. He then, overnight, became a racist, Nazi who adored Hitler. That’s important. Why was he so hated? Why so vehemently attacked so quickly?
  • The Bush clan endorsed Hillary Clinton for president in 2016 exposing for all to see the reality of the uniparty. That’s a big tell.

Many MAGA people and others have abandoned Trump over this Iran war—not even three weeks in! Is it possible there are things going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about? Is it possible that Trump and his team are attempting to do something that has never been done before and hence they must be extremely careful, resourceful and, in some cases, secretive? Is it possible that much of what we’re hearing and seeing via social media and Substack (God forbid!) is propaganda? Is it possible that Trump is allowing his reputation to disintegrate while he pursues a higher purpose and to hide his true intentions for the time being?

Look, all you doomers may be right. I wouldn’t be completely surprised, nor would I collapse in a cognitive dissonance episode because my precious opinions imploded. But—you might not be right. Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin was high on Trump in the beginning and now he has completely flipped. Isn’t it possible that it’s not Trump who has changed? Hasn’t Trump earned the benefit of our doubt?

This Iran war is just over two weeks old. So I’m willing to withhold judgement. If I had to choose, I’d go with Trump and his team have a much more ambitious agenda than simple regime change, cheap oil, working for Israel, thwarting China—or whatever. I might call it “World Regime Change.” I like the Clandestine, Kunstler, Childers, Bray and Steger quotes above. Partly I like them, admittedly, because I want those things to be true.

But there may be more power in the wanting than we realize.

…hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.15

And if this is what is happening, it’s not going to be a smooth ride. It’s going to be bumpy and unpredictable. The propaganda against Trump and anything his administration does will only get worse. The lies will get bigger. There may be, probably will be, darker days ahead. Maybe false flags.

But good night! Don’t abandon ship yet.

The people and powers we’re dealing with have had decades to dig in, to prepare. They’re not going to say, “Okay, okay, you guys won. Handcuff us now and get it over with.”

Be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves.16
