Islam cannot survive freedom. The Quran cannot survive intense scrutiny and critical investigation. In this technological age, Islam's days are numbered. Although they can hijack Western technology to use against the West, the foundations of Islam are rotten to the core and cannot stand.1
— Dr. Peter Hammond
This is another disturbing book about Islam. Why are there so many books like this?
Many Muslims will argue that colonialism has caused most of their problems, that they’re the victims and hence Jihad is justified. In Slavery, Terrorism and Islam : – The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat, the author, Dr. Peter Hammond, calls this a “bizarre argument”
because the Muslim Arabs have been, perhaps, the most pervasive colonialists in history. Within the first century after Muhammad’s death, the tribes of Arabia under the Caliphas had conquered Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Persia, parts of Byzantia and even parts of France.2
Another argument that Muslims often use is that Jihad has always been purely defensive. They’re just protecting themselves from the mean ol’ Crusaders who attacked the most peaceful people on earth for reasons unknown. The defensive argument crumbles when one knows how “defense” is defined in Islam. Hammond writes:
The fiction that Jihad has never been an aggressive, but only a defensive concept, should be dismissed with the contempt that such deception deserves. When Islam defines a refusal to submit to Sharia law under Islam as aggression, and when they define peace as submission to Islam, then we must know that we are not talking the same language.3
This is the kind of information that a Muslim is obligated to withhold if they think or know that it will alert infidels to the true nature of Islamic doctrine and Sharia law, especially if the Muslim in question is living in a land where Islam is not dominant. And so with a straight face an orthodox Muslim can explain demurely that Jihad is a spiritual endeavor and only physical when it is necessary as a defense, all the time knowing that the only time Islam will not need to defend itself is when the entire world is living under the boot of Sharia law.
Islam has been an aggressive, repressive ideology ever since Muhammad moved to Medina after becoming frustrated that those around him would not accept him as God’s prophet. Islam has been enslaving people (that includes Muslims) for 14 centuries and attempting to impose its immoral, savage belief system on the world for just as long.
In the introduction to the book Dr. George Grant writes:
The most convulsive conflict of the past century, and indeed the most convulsive conflict of the past, millennium, has undoubtedly been between Islam and Civilization; it has been between Islam and Freedom; it has been between Islam and Order; it has been between Islam and Progress; it has been between Islam and Hope.4
This book chronicles the violent history of Islam, the reason for the Crusades, Islam’s enslavement of women and its involvement with slavery in general. It’s amazing, the author writes, that when slavery is talked about it is mostly talked about in terms of America. But most of the slaves coming across the Atlantic did not end up in America, most of them were sold to countries in South and Central America. And rarely, when slavery is brought up, is Islam mentioned even though slavery is sanctioned by Muhammad and the Koran, and even though there is ample evidence that the slavery of Islam was more barbaric and more pervasive than the American version.
This does not excuse what happened in America, but it shouldn’t be the complete focus in light of what Islamic slavery entailed. Most Islamic slaves were women (sex slaves) and if they became pregnant the child was usually murdered. The men were most often castrated. Islam’s slaves included both blacks and whites. Many Europeans were captured and sold into slavery. There is also evidence that Islamic slavery continues to this day in many Muslim majority countries.
Why is this not talked about either by Islamists or Western Islamic apologists aside from the obvious reason that it’s not a good look for a peaceful and tolerant religion? Hammond writes:
One reason why very little has been written about the Arab involvement in slavery is that traditional Islamic culture still condones slavery. The Sharia, the codified Islamic law which is based upon the teachings and example of Muhammad, contains explicit regulations for slavery. One of the primary principles of Islam is following the example of Muhammad….As Muhammad himself traded in slaves and owned slaves…slavery and the sexual exploitation of women is deeply ingrained in Islamic tradition.5
A. C. Rosenthal wrote an article about Christianity, Islam and slavery. He says that slavery in the West was largely ended because of people “working inside the Christian tradition.” To eradicate slavery would not be antithetical to Christianity, but a confirmation that slavery was incompatible with Christian values. With Islam, however, there is this:
To stand up inside that [Islam] and say the slaving was wrong is not to say the institution fell short of its principles. It is to say the Prophet’s example was wrong, the Quran’s permission was wrong, and fourteen centuries of scholarly consensus were wrong. In the structure of the tradition, that is not reform. It edges toward apostasy.6
Islam’s uncompromising reverence for Muhammad leaves the Muslim with no way out. There are those who do not want out for sure, those who enjoy feeding their cruelest, barbaric instincts, but for those Muslims who know deep down that raping young, white, infidel girls is wrong or that murdering someone who has left Islam is wrong or that slavery of men and women is obviously wrong—the example of Muhammad is always there to illustrate the opposite, to tell the believer they cannot trust their conscience; only Muhammad’s life can be trusted. What’s a Muslim to do? I suggest leaving Islam is the best option.

There’s a lot of great information in Hammond’s book. There are lots of details about Muslim aggression through the centuries, including the amount of Christians murdered by Muslims at various places and times. Here’s a sampling:
On 29 May, AD 1453 the sparse and woefully outnumbered garrison of Constantinople put up a brave, but futile, defence and were overwhelmed by the waves of Turkish invaders. The pillaging and looting went on for days. Tens of thousands of civilians were slaughtered in the streets.7
What few Westerners know is that the builder of the Taj Mahal launched 48 military campaigns against non-Muslims in just 30 years….When he captured Hugh, a Portuguese enclave near Calcutta, he had 10,000 inhabitants “blown up with powder, drowned in water, or burned by fire.” Another 4,000 were enslaved and offered Islam or death. Those who refused to convert were killed.8
In 1822, the entire population of the Island of Chios, tens of thousands of people, were massacred or enslaved. In 1823, 8750 Christians were slaughtered by the Turks at Missolonghi. Thousands of Assyrian Christians were murdered in the province of Mossul in 1850. In 1860 over 12000 Christians were slaughtered in Lebanon. In 1876, 14,700 Bulgarians were murdered by the Turks. At the town of Batao, out of 7000 inhabitants, 5000 were put to the sword.9
The Turks slaughtered over 200,000 Armenian Christians in Bayazid (1877), Alashgurd (1879), Sassun (1894), Constantinople (1896), Adana (1909) and in Armenia (1895 – 1896). And in 1915 the Turks massacred over 1.5 million Armenian Christians.10
Hammond dedicates an entire chapter to Nigeria (“Resisting Sharia in Nigeria”) where Christians are still facing persecution from Muslims (Hammond’s book was published in 2013). He relates a story where a pregnant Christian woman is beaten to death because she walked by Muslim men in prayer, then these Muslims used the incident as a pretext to go on the rampage burning shops and churches along with beating and killing Christians.
However, and this what I really like about the story, the Christians fought back the next day and defeated the Muslim mobs. Many Muslims fled to north Nigeria. Hammond writes:
What they had not expected was such fierce resistance from the Christians. Many Muslims said that they had never expected the Christians to fight back.11
There are a number of worthwhile appendices in the book that include a glossary of Islamic terms, a list of important Muslims through the centuries, some interesting charts, maps and graphs, some quotes from Churchill on Islam, death threats the author has received, Islamic attacks on the Bible and a few other things. Here’s a quote by Churchill about Islam:
A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property either as a child, a wife, or a concubine must delay the final extinction of slavery until the^[sic] faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.12
Hammond writes a lot about the Crusades and how, contrary to woke history, they were a reaction against Islamic aggression over many centuries. Like the Christians in Nigeria, Europe had finally had enough and decided to fight back against Islamic conquests.
He also critiques Ridley Scott’s movie Kingdom of Heaven which is a blatant propaganda piece about the fall of Jerusalem in 1187. It portrays the Muslim commander, Saladin, as merciful and has a Catholic priest saying, “To kill an infidel is not murder it is the path to heaven!”13
The latter is laughable and a complete reversal of reality. Such a statement has no support in the Bible, but tons of support in the Koran and from Muhammad’s life. That is Jihad. Hollywood loves doing this shit (lying to your face) and they seem to be doing more and more of it in a blatant manner which is why anything produced after 2010 (and earlier) is probably not worth your time.
The solution, according to Hammond who is a Christian and a missionary, is for the Western world to return to its roots, to return to what made Western civilization great: its Christian foundation. Hedonism, relativism, atheism and other modern “isms” have been riding on the back of Western civilization’s bedrock of Christian values and philosophy without contributing. These isms are living on borrowed time. They only benefit from what Western civilization built and it cannot be sustained without a return to the Christian values that built the greatest civilization in history. Hammond writes:
And with most Europeans embracing a practical atheism or a fuzzy new age spirituality, they are incapable of comprehending, let alone effectively dealing with, radical Islam. That, in a nutshell, is the problem.14
The advantage Islam has is certainty and unity. Hammond writes:
Jihad, the subjugation and forcible conversion of all people to Islam and world domination are, in fact, central tenants of Islam. Jihad is the sixth pillar of Islam. Jihad was so important to Muhammad that he declared it to be the second most important deed in Islam. “Allah’s apostle was asked, ‘What is the best deed?’ He replied, ‘To believe in Allah and his apostle.’ The questioner then asked, ‘What is the next (in goodness)?’ He replied, ‘To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah’s cause.'” The Hadith, Al Bukhari, Vol. 1 no 25.15
Whether they’re truly “moderate” Muslims or just liars, those who incessantly continue to promote the idea that the violent Jihad over the last 14 centuries is one simple, gigantic misunderstanding of the Koran and Muhammad’s life are contributing to the eradication of our freedoms that have required enormous sacrifices to secure.
Fourteen centuries of murders, rapes and slavery is not a misunderstanding, it’s a deliberate, intentional and willful path sanctioned by Muhammad and the Koran.
Muslim, it’s time to leave. Watch your back.
