SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Doctors who spread coronavirus lies could be disciplined for unprofessional conduct in California under a law signed Friday by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
The bill, AB2098, introduced by Democratic Assembly Member Evan Low, declares that a physician or surgeon commits professional misconduct if they disseminate “misinformation or disinformation” about the nature and risks of COVID-19, its prevention and treatment and the development, safety and effectiveness of vaccines.
A doctor who commits such conduct could face discipline by the state medical board or osteopathic medical board and in severe cases, could potentially lose their license to practice in California.
It was the last remaining vaccine-related bill of note after the more controversial measures didn’t pass.
I love that last line: “after the more controversial measures didn’t pass.” Yes they were controversial, but this one ranks right up there. This is a horrific law. Medical boards were already making it hard to trust doctors, but this law will make it nearly impossible to believe your doctor or have any confidence in what they are telling you about the vaccines. This is Big Brother censorship. Do you want to tell a patient that they shouldn’t get the vaccine? Well, go for it, but you may lose your license.
Government bureaucrats dictating what constitutes medical truths is ridiculous. Good medicine requires robust debate from both sides or many sides. The fact that these people do not want any debate regarding the vaccines or COVID should tell you a lot.
Go to hell all you government vaccine sycophants. We will not forget. We will never forget.
“I am signing this bill because it is narrowly tailored to apply only to those egregious instances in which a licensee is acting with malicious intent or clearly deviating from the required standard of care while interacting directly with a patient under their care,” Newsom wrote in his signing message.
Newsom said AB 2098 only applies to physicians’ speech with patients during discussions directly related to COVID-19 treatment.
“I am concerned about the chilling effect other potential laws may have on physicians and surgeons who need to be able to effectively talk to their patients about the risks and benefits of treatments for a disease that appeared in just the last few years,” he wrote. “However, I am confident that discussing emerging ideas or treatments including the subsequent risks and benefits does not constitute misinformation or disinformation under this bill’s criteria.”[emphasis mine]
We all know what this means. The powers that be love to talk about misinformation, but they don’t like defining it, though everyone knows what they mean by it.
Hey Newsom, and you Gov’t vaccine sycophants!
Go to hell.
Go fuck yourself too.
We will never forget what you did.
